Sunday in the Studio - Building a Dream One Day at a Time

Happy Sunday, everyone!

I thought I’d try something a little different.

Every Sunday, I’d love to take you behind the scenes here at rawberrybugs and share what I’ve been creating, what I’ve been learning, and what I’m hoping to accomplish in the week ahead. Think of it as a little peek inside the workshop.

Our Backyard has officially been released, and while I’m still patiently waiting for the very first purchase, I’m smiling more than I’m worrying. Every business starts somewhere, and every book has to find its very first reader. Until then, I’ll keep creating, sharing, and believing that the right people will discover it.

One thing I’ve learned already is that creating the book was only the beginning. Since launch, I’ve been busy building the website…and discovering that every time I fix one thing, I somehow find two more things that need fixing! Let’s just say there have been a few “Well… that wasn’t supposed to happen!” moments along the way. Thankfully, each little mistake has taught me something new, and the website gets a little better every day. I’ve also been creating Explorer activities, designing printable resources, writing blog posts, filming TikTok videos, sketching new artwork, and dreaming up all the ideas that are patiently waiting in my notebook for their turn.

This past week has been especially exciting. I’ve started developing a teachers planner to go alongside Our Backyard, continued bringing the new book (or should I say…Seedman…Shh!) to life, and spent time turning real backyard adventures into stories, videos, and ideas for the future. Even a camping trip became inspiration for new characters and memories that I can’t wait to share.

Looking ahead to this week, my goals are to continue working on classroom resources for Our Backyard, keep developing Seedman’s character, and continue sharing the wildlife that inspires everything I do. There are also plenty of new videos, sketches, and surprises on the way.

This journey is still in its very first chapter, and that’s exciting. Every drawing, every blog post, every visitor to the website, every comment, and eventually every book that finds a new home is another little step forward.

Thank you for following along, whether you’ve been here since the beginning or just discovered rawberrybugs today. Your presence means more than you probably realize.

Until next time…

Keep exploring.
